In Baltimore Sister Cities, Inc. (BSC)’s first Board Meeting of 2024, the following items will be submitted for approval by voting members of the board. This board meeting will be at 6:30pm ET on January 31, 2024, immediately following the Annual Membership Meeting. The meeting will be held online via Zoom. The information has been posted on this webpage so that members have a chance to review it before the meeting.
Ballot: sections A and B below will be voted on via an online ballot using the ElectionBuddy platform.
Who can vote in this BSC Board Meeting:
- Board directors that represent sister city committees and other organizations on our board, as defined in our bylaws. These directors are elected in the 2024 Annual Membership Meeting immediately preceding the Board Meeting (see candidates’ names in section C of the Annual Membership Meeting’s ballot topics page).
- The current Officers of the Board (John Facelo, Mark White, Fontaine Bell, and Dan Young) — if amendment E2 is approved in the BSC Membership meeting that precedes this Board meeting.

Note: there are no nominations for new co-opted non-voting observers (a.k.a. co-opted directors) in the January 31, 2024 board meeting. Nancy Taylor is currently the only co-opted observer; her term ends December 31, 2024.
A. Officers of the Board
BSC’s bylaws define the Officers of the Board as consisting of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer and such additional vice presidents or assistant secretaries or assistant treasurers as the Board may from time to time appoint.
Positions indicated in bold font with an asterisk (*) are up for election during this board meeting. Some positions have more than one nominee; some have no nominees yet. Positions with no nominees can be voted on later in the year, when a nominee becomes available.
Positions WITHOUT an asterisk are in the middle of their term and therefore NOT up for reelection on January 31, 2024. (Mark White was elected on 2023-12-13 to fill the remainder of Nancy Taylor’s term which ends 2025-02-28.)

B. Alternate Director Representatives
In the Annual Membership Meeting preceding this Board Meeting, the BSC membership votes in the board directors that represent sister city committees and other organizations that are defined in our bylaws (see candidates’ names in section C of the Annual Membership Meeting’s ballot topics page).
During Board Meetings, if a Director may not be able to attend all scheduled Board meetings during their tenure, the Director’s constituency can request Board approval for an Alternate Director to attend, with full voting rights, any future meetings that its Director is unable to attend.
